‘Maddie is Online’ Series 5. ‘Generative Artificial Intelligence’ aims to teach core values and skills that are essential for using GenAI enabled tools, building resilient and adaptable learners.

Key aspects of this series include: Ethical AI Use – Understanding how GenAI works, using it responsibly for learning, and being aware of its limitations and bias, including related to consent, authorship, and accountability.

Privacy Awareness – Knowing how to protect personal/private information when using GenAI which can be exploited for commercial or malicious purposes.

Information and Digital Literacy – Recognizing credible versus unreliable sources and fact-checking.

Critical Thinking – Critically evaluating GenAI-generated responses, and identifying bias, misinformation and misplaced trust on GenAIsystems, while recognising the value of human oversight.

Responsible Communication – Engaging respectfully in online discussions, avoiding harmful and misleading interactions, while understanding the impact of digital footprints.
